Very cool to see the progress that Joey Nguyen is making with her game. She’s smashing the driver and making nice progress with her putting. Our participant, Joey, joined our #FirstTeeDCCommunitee challenge through her school, Lake Braddock Secondary.

Joey is the Chair of GIRLs(Girls in Roles of Leadership) and for their monthly service project. They made goodie bags for teachers at the school to thank them for all that they do. The project is called the Giving Thanks Project, and when some of the club members and Joey were delivering the goodie bags, all of the teachers really appreciated the bags and said it made their day. This was a very heartfelt moment for her and it made her so thankful that she is in a position where she can help and give back to her peers, teachers, and community.

Week 🖐🏻 begins today! We have enjoyed our time on the course with all our volunteers, coaches, and participants. Here is our participant volunteer, Joey giving some pointers to the PLAYer class at Laurel Hill.
